  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Wang Wenshuai, spokesperson for the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), stated at a regular press conference on the 28th that the global trade friction index for December 2025 was 104, remaining at a high level. The value involved in global trade friction measures decreased by 4.6% year-on-year but increased by 6.3% month-on-month.

  From a country-specific perspective, among the 20 countries (regions) monitored, the United States, the European Union, and India ranked in the top three in terms of global trade friction index, with the United States involving the largest amount of global trade friction measures.

  From an industry-specific perspective, among the 13 major industries monitored, the points of conflict in trade friction measures were concentrated in the electronics, pharmaceutical, machinery and equipment, non-ferrous metals, and transportation equipment industries, with the electronics industry having the highest trade friction index.

  From a sub-indices perspective, the 20 countries (regions) monitored issued a total of 29 import and export tariff measures, initiated 20 trade remedy investigations, issued 33 import and export restriction measures, and issued 264 other restrictive measures. The import and export restriction measures index ranked first among the five sub-item indices. Regarding trade frictions involving China, the trade friction index for 19 countries (regions) was 106, indicating a high level. The United States had the highest index, with industries such as semiconductors, satellite antennas, and lithium-ion batteries also showing high indices. The total value of trade friction measures involving China from these 19 countries (regions) decreased by 18.4% year-on-year but increased by 9.9% month-on-month in the current month. (End)
