Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the 13th, China's Ministry of Finance, General Administration of Customs, and State Taxation Administration announced several preferential import tax policies to support technological innovation, the construction of the national comprehensive fire and rescue team, and the development of science popularization.
Among these policies, from January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2030, eligible scientific research institutions, technology development institutions, schools, Party schools (administrative colleges), and libraries will be exempt from import duties, import-related value-added tax, and consumption tax on scientific research, technological development, and teaching supplies that cannot be produced domestically or whose performance cannot meet domestic needs. Eligible publication importers will also be exempt from import-related value-added tax on books and materials imported by the aforementioned institutions for research and teaching purposes.
From January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2030, the national comprehensive fire and rescue team will be exempt from import duties, import-related value-added tax, and consumption tax on fire and rescue equipment that cannot be produced domestically or whose performance cannot meet domestic needs.
From January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2030, science museums, natural history museums, and other science popularization institutions will be exempt from import duties and import-related value-added tax on imported science popularization films and television programs, as well as science popularization instruments and equipment that cannot be produced domestically or whose performance cannot meet domestic needs.
