Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com), February 12th – The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, Vietnam Post, and CT UAV Joint Stock Company jointly held an opening ceremony at the Can Gia Wharf in Ho Chi Minh City for the Can Gia-Vung Tau low-altitude unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) logistics route. This marks the official launch of Vietnam's first cross-sea UAV postal route, representing an innovative practice of intelligent transportation solutions, injecting new momentum into the development of the digital economy, and effectively alleviating the pressure on Ho Chi Minh City's land transport infrastructure.

On the day of the ceremony, the route commenced actual operations: a postal parcel was successfully delivered from Can Gia commune in Ho Chi Minh City to a ward in Vung Tau City. The opening and operation of this route strictly adheres to Agreement No. 288/2025/NĐ-CP and Notification No. 146/2025/TT-BQP, and has obtained Flight Permit No. 805/TC-QC issued by the Operations Bureau of the General Staff on January 19, 2026.

As the leading unit of the project, Vietnam Post is responsible for business process design, quality standard setting, and the organization of the entire process of cargo collection and delivery. The route operation is deeply integrated into its existing logistics system, achieving a smooth "one-code-through" service experience. In the first phase, the route will prioritize the transportation of small parcels weighing less than 5 kg, covering categories such as documents and e-commerce express delivery. Through drone transportation, not only is the delivery cycle between Can Nya and Vung Tau significantly shortened due to the special geographical conditions, but it also provides customers with fast pickup and delivery services and real-time logistics tracking. The opening of this route further enhances the logistics service guarantee capacity in scenarios of traffic disruption, accumulates practical experience for the "controlled pilot model," and provides key data support for regulatory agencies to improve smart logistics policies and develop the low-altitude economy. In the future, the Can Ya-Vung Tau route will become an important reference for Vietnam to assess the expansion of drone logistics models into specialized fields, including emergency medical transportation, natural disaster emergency response, and smart city management. Based on this achievement, Ho Chi Minh City is making every effort to promote the construction of a green, intelligent, and flexible logistics network to meet the sustainable development needs of the digital age.

The launch of this cross-sea drone postal route not only creates a new paradigm for logistics transportation in Vietnam but also lays the foundation for the large-scale application of low-altitude drones in the postal and urban logistics sectors. This will effectively meet the growing societal demand for fast, flexible, and efficient delivery, helping the industry achieve multiple goals such as improved transportation efficiency, cost optimization, and relief of traditional traffic pressure.
