Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – February 10th – At a media briefing for the 6th China International Consumer Products Expo (CIE), a key event of the CIE, the annual "Global Gifts, CIE Products" selection, it was announced that this year's CIE will host this international selection, aiming to build a platform driving a two-way flow of the global consumer market.
The Hainan International Economic Development Bureau and the International Olympic Committee jointly announced the "Global Gifts, CIE Products" annual selection. The event selects global gifts for the Chinese market based on international art standards, showcasing Eastern excellence to the global stage through Chinese consumer vitality.
Liu Peng, Assistant Director of the Hainan International Economic Development Bureau, said that during the 5th CIE, the "Global Gifts" China selection served as a successful pilot, attracting over 100 companies to participate. Ultimately, 28 outstanding products were selected, including 5 Hainan local products, generating a strong market response and validating the enormous potential of the "art-enabled consumption" model.
“Building on last year’s success, this year’s project has been fully upgraded to an annual, global selection event,” said Liu Peng. He explained that this move is a key measure by the Consumer Goods Expo to serve the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port as an international tourism and consumption center. The aim is to systematically discover and promote products that embody cultural stories and innovative spirit, upgrading Hainan’s consumption ecosystem from “shopping consumption” to “cultural experience,” thereby substantially enhancing the attractiveness and competitiveness of the Free Trade Port.
Qin Wen, Executive Chair of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), stated that the “Global Gifts” and “Consumer Goods Expo” projects are dedicated to promoting cultural exchange and integration among countries, promoting national culture while also fostering global cultural exchange and sharing.
Han Decheng, Chairman of the IOC, introduced that this year’s selection covers eleven major consumer categories, including cultural creativity and design, traditional crafts, fashion apparel, technological integration, and health and wellness. To ensure fairness and authority in cross-category judging, a global and diverse expert judging panel will be formed to conduct a comprehensive evaluation based on ten core dimensions, including “uniqueness and leadership,” “design and aesthetics,” “cultural storytelling,” and “environmental protection and sustainability,” combining quantitative and qualitative assessments. In terms of awards, the project plans to include "Core Awards" (Platinum, Gold, and Silver Awards), "Growth Awards" (Industry Breakthrough Awards, Future Potential Awards, etc.), and "Nomination Awards."
It is understood that the official call for submissions for the "Global Gifts, Consumer Expo Goodies" project will begin in late February 2026, open to global and domestic enterprises, exhibitors, and brands of the 6th Consumer Expo. (End)
