  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – The State Council Information Office held a press conference on the 23rd to introduce the progress of intellectual property work in 2025. Rui Wenbiao, Deputy Director of the State Intellectual Property Office, revealed at the conference that by the end of 2025, the number of valid domestic invention patents (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) in my country reached 5.32 million, with 16 high-value invention patents per 10,000 people.

  Rui Wenbiao introduced that in 2025, my country granted 972,000 invention patents, 1.461 million utility model patents, and 666,000 design patents. 96,000 patent re-examinations and invalidation cases were closed. The examination period for invention patents was reduced to 15 months, and the accuracy rate of case closure increased to 95.6%. 78,000 PCT international patent applications were accepted. Chinese patent applicants filed 2,844 international design applications through the Hague Agreement.

  Rui Wenbiao stated that by the end of 2025, my country had 5.32 million valid invention patents (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan), with 16 high-value invention patents per 10,000 people. The added value of patent-intensive industries accounted for 13.38% of GDP in 2024, exceeding the expected target of the 14th Five-Year Plan for Intellectual Property.
