Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Reporters learned today from the National Energy Administration that by the end of December 2025, the number of electric vehicle charging facilities in my country officially exceeded 20 million, establishing the world's largest electric vehicle charging network and providing solid support for the development of the new energy vehicle industry.

Data released by the National Energy Administration shows that by the end of December 2025, the total number of electric vehicle charging facilities in my country reached 20.092 million, including 4.717 million public charging facilities and 15.375 million private charging facilities. Currently, this charging network effectively supports the charging needs of over 40 million new energy vehicles nationwide, demonstrating my country's leading advantage in the construction of supporting infrastructure for new energy vehicles.

In 2025, the development of charging facilities in my country continued to improve in quality and upgrade, achieving significant breakthroughs in three major aspects: scale growth, charging efficiency, and coverage.

Scale growth continued to accelerate, with a rapid development momentum. From the construction of my country's first charging station in 2006 to the number of charging facilities exceeding 1 million in June 2019, it took 13 years; from 1 million to 10 million by June 2024, it took 5 years; and from 10 million to 20 million, it took only 18 months, demonstrating a leapfrog growth rate.

Charging efficiency has significantly improved, and the service experience has been continuously optimized. With the accelerated deployment and construction of high-power charging facilities, the average charging power per gun at public charging stations nationwide has reached 46.5 kilowatts, a 33% increase year-on-year, effectively shortening charging time and further improving the convenience of charging for the public.

Facility coverage is constantly expanding, and the service network is becoming increasingly comprehensive. To date, a total of 71,500 charging piles have been built in highway service areas nationwide, covering over 98% of service areas; meanwhile, 19 provinces have achieved full coverage of charging facilities in every township, gradually building a three-dimensional charging service system where "every city has a network, every county has full coverage, and every township can charge."
