The Hainan Yangpu International Container Hub Port Expansion Project is a key project serving the full island-wide customs closure of the Hainan Free Trade Port and the construction of the Western Land-Sea New Corridor. Following the completion and commissioning of the shoreline, the construction unit, China Communications Construction Fourth Harbor Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd., is working diligently to meet the construction schedule, aiming to complete key milestones such as unloading of heavy containers and construction of sand cushion layers and drainage boards in the empty container area and auxiliary construction area before the Spring Festival.
A representative from China Communications Construction Fourth Harbor Engineering Bureau stated that the first phase of foundation treatment is currently fully underway: a large amount of machinery is being used for unloading and dynamic compaction in the heavy container area; stabilization and drainage board installation are being carried out simultaneously in the empty container area and auxiliary construction area. The second phase of the storage yard construction is also proceeding smoothly.
The first phase of the Basuo Port Gaopai Port Area project, located in Dongfang City, is a benchmark upgrade for the core industrial port on the western wing of Hainan Province's "Four Directions, Five Ports" development strategy. Currently, wharf and waterway construction, as well as breakwater construction, are underway. Construction workers from the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) Guangzhou Waterway Bureau Co., Ltd. remained on-site during the New Year's holiday to ensure the project's strong progress at the start of the new year.
It is understood that the first phase of the Basuo Port Gaopai Port Area wharf and waterway project will include two berths: one 30,000-ton multipurpose berth and one 70,000-ton general-purpose berth, with a designed annual throughput capacity of 6.7 million tons. A new 4.22-kilometer breakwater will also be constructed. Upon completion, the project will significantly enhance the capacity of Basuo Port, providing 6.7 million tons of cargo handling capacity annually to support the joint development of advanced manufacturing industries in Hunan and Hainan.
The China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) Guangzhou Dredging Bureau's Basuo Port Breakwater Project Department stated that construction of the north, middle, and west breakwaters is progressing smoothly. The overall completion rate of the stone filling is 35.2%, laying a solid foundation for subsequent construction.
Besides port construction, several highway projects in the Hainan Free Trade Port are also under construction. During the New Year's holiday, the G98 Hainan Ring Expressway Greater Sanya Section Expansion Project's Civil Engineering Section 2 was bustling with activity, with over a thousand engineers from CCCC Second Highway Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. working on-site.
The G98 Hainan Ring Expressway Greater Sanya Section Expansion Project is a major project for the Hainan Free Trade Port, playing a significant role in further improving the national and regional road network, enhancing the traffic capacity and service level of the Greater Sanya section of the Hainan Ring Expressway, and expanding the urban development space of Sanya.
The project manager of CCCC Second Highway Engineering Bureau stated that now is the "golden period" for construction, and the project department is focusing on the construction schedule, ensuring steady progress through scientifically coordinating holiday construction arrangements. Currently, this section has completed 30% of the roadbed engineering, 86% of the bridge pile foundations, and 35% of the bridge substructure construction, and has begun the construction of precast box girders and cast-in-place box girders for the superstructure.
At the construction site of the Damao Tunnel reconstruction project on the G98 Ring Expressway, builders from China Communications Construction First Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. (CCCC First Highway Engineering Co., Ltd., Xiamen) are drilling holes for pedestrian passages and laying waterproof membranes inside the tunnel. It is understood that the project will add a two-way four-lane tunnel with continuous arches, while retaining the existing tunnel after repairing its defects.
"The Damao Tunnel is a vital artery for entering and exiting Sanya City, and it is necessary to ensure normal expressway traffic during construction," said a relevant person in charge of CCCC First Highway Engineering Co., Ltd. Currently, there are nearly 400 workers and 122 sets of machinery and equipment on site, ensuring the smooth operation of the existing expressway while carrying out various construction projects in an orderly manner.
