Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – From January to November this year, over 128 million home appliances were traded in under China's trade-in program, driving related product sales to exceed 2.5 trillion yuan (RMB).

The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) held a press conference on the 26th to introduce the achievements since the issuance of the "Action Plan for Promoting Equipment Upgrading and Consumer Goods Trade-in through Standards Improvement" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan") in 2024. The above data was obtained from the press conference.

Liu Hongsheng, Director of the Standards and Technology Management Department of the SAMR, introduced at the conference that the "Plan" focuses on three key tasks: accelerating the upgrading of energy consumption and emission technology standards, strengthening product quality and safety standards, and increasing the supply of recycling standards. It deploys the formulation and revision of 294 national standards in 13 key areas. Currently, all relevant standards have been approved and published.

Liu Hongsheng stated that the release of these standards has effectively promoted equipment upgrading and facilitated the release of consumer potential. For example, in terms of energy conservation and carbon reduction, the new mandatory national standard for energy consumption limits of coal-fired power generating units is expected to reduce the average coal consumption for power supply to below 302 grams of standard coal per kilowatt-hour by 2030, correspondingly reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 160 million tons. In terms of consumer goods, a major breakthrough has been achieved in the safety standards for electric vehicle power batteries, with "no fire, no explosion" being listed as a mandatory requirement for the first time. This has prompted automakers to optimize battery structures and thermal management systems, significantly improving the safety level of new energy vehicles and enhancing consumer confidence.

The implementation of the standards has also effectively driven the transformation and upgrading of the light industry. Leading enterprises are accelerating the launch of mid-to-high-end smart furniture products, with a market size exceeding 10 billion yuan, becoming a new growth point for furniture consumption upgrading.
