Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) December 18, 2025 – According to statistics from Lhasa Customs, from January to November this year, the Zhangmu Port handled 84,800 tons of import and export cargo, with a trade value of 2.71 billion yuan (RMB), delivering an impressive performance. The Zhangmu Port in Nyalam County, Shigatse City, Tibet Autonomous Region, is demonstrating strong foreign trade vitality.

Among them, exports of "new three products," represented by domestically produced new energy vehicles, performed particularly well. The export value of new energy vehicles reached 575 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.79%, becoming an important engine driving the port's foreign trade growth and highlighting the efficient customs clearance and robust trade potential of Zhangmu Port.

Leveraging its geographical advantage facing South Asia, and against the backdrop of the deepening "Belt and Road" initiative, Nyalam Customs, under Lhasa Customs, focused on customs clearance facilitation, launching a series of reform measures to continuously optimize the port's business environment. By implementing measures such as "pre-classification" and "advance declaration," a "green channel" has been created for the export of new energy vehicles and agricultural products. The upgraded "land port declaration, local inspection, and direct port clearance" supervision model enables efficient "one-stop" customs clearance for goods, significantly reducing customs clearance time and costs for enterprises.

"Manual logistics costs are low, and customs clearance is fast. More than 70% of our company's goods exit through Zhangmu Port," said a representative from Tibet Chengjie Customs Brokerage Company. The representative added that the "Fengqiao Experience" workstation established by the customs also regularly conducts business and legal education to safeguard the development of enterprises.

Data shows that from January to November, 1,232 enterprises conducted import and export business at Zhangmu Port, an increase of 18.35% year-on-year. A representative from Nyalam Customs explained that the customs proactively extended customs clearance hours to mitigate the impact of traffic congestion during the port reconstruction period. At the same time, it implemented the new era's "Fengqiao Experience," providing precise and customized services, making customs supervision not only fast but also humane.

Today, the Zhangmu Port's continuously improving regulatory and service efficiency is attracting more enterprises to participate in Tibet's foreign trade, and the port's resilience and trade vitality are being continuously unleashed. (End)
