China's first underground natural gas storage facility has been operating safely and stably for 50 years.

  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) reported on the 17th that, according to Daqing Oilfield, as of December 16th, China's first underground natural gas storage facility—the Lamadian Gas Storage Facility in Daqing Oilfield—has cumulatively injected and extracted over 5 billion cubic meters of natural gas, operating continuously for over 18,000 days. This surpasses the conventional understanding of a gas storage facility's lifespan of 30-50 years, achieving 50 years of safe and environmentally sound operation with zero accidents since its construction.

  To address the storage problem of associated gas from large quantities of oilfield gas, Daqing Oilfield built China's earliest underground natural gas storage facility in the Lamadian Oilfield in 1975. Combining the dynamic changes in oilfield development with winter extraction and summer injection, it has played a role in peak shaving and valley filling, effectively solving the problem of uneven gas demand in Heilongjiang Province during winter and summer, and protecting the comprehensive development and utilization of oil and gas resources.

  Currently, the Lamadian gas storage facility of Daqing Oilfield has commenced a new round of gas production. This round of supply guarantee mission plans to produce 84 million cubic meters of gas, providing solid energy support for the people of Heilongjiang to stay warm during the winter.

  "During the winter supply guarantee period, we will firmly adhere to the bottom line of 'safe, stable, and efficient operation'," said Liu Xi, a natural gas management officer at the Oilfield Management Department of the Sixth Oil Production Plant of Daqing Oilfield. He explained that they are conducting full-process inspections of all gas production equipment, promptly identifying and eliminating potential hazards to ensure zero-failure operation of the equipment.
