Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 7th Hainan Island International Film Festival's Marine Culture and Tourism Film Symposium was recently held in Sanya. The symposium, themed "Telling Stories Through Film, Shaping a Blue Future," brought together guests from government, academia, film and television production, and industry to discuss the unique value and practical paths of film art in inheriting marine culture, empowering the integrated development of culture and tourism, and serving the national strategy of building a maritime power.

Chen Jiyang, Executive Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and Director of the Hainan Provincial Film Bureau, stated in his address that Hainan was born from and thrives because of the sea, and is currently at a crucial stage in the construction of its free trade port, committed to creating a window to showcase the achievements of building a maritime power. He pointed out that "film is the most direct and impactful way to showcase the charm and value of the ocean," and expressed his hope to gather wisdom and creativity from all sectors to jointly answer the contemporary question of how to use film art to empower the dissemination of marine culture and promote the development of marine tourism. He sincerely invited global film and television talents to create masterpieces with Hainan as their stage and the ocean as their theme, jointly writing a new chapter in the practice of building a maritime power and Chinese-style modernization in Hainan. Tong Gang, Vice President of the China Federation of Radio and Television Social Organizations and former member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, pointed out that promoting the development of marine culture and tourism video is key to shaping national maritime identity at the cultural level, an important engine for driving the integration of culture and tourism at the economic level, and a soft power support for building a maritime power at the strategic level. He called on creators to create high-quality marine videos worthy of our times with a fresh perspective and deeper sentiment.

Regarding the inheritance and development of marine culture, Ma Qinglong, Director of the Training and Exchange Department of the China Ocean Engineering Consulting Association, put forward four points: First, scientific planning is needed, incorporating it into the national strategic layout; second, in-depth research and strengthened interdisciplinary cooperation are required; third, education should be strengthened, constructing a systematic and scientific marine culture education system; and fourth, practice should be promoted, creating multi-level practice platforms.

Zhou Jinfeng, President of the World Academy of Sustainable Development (WAOSD), pointed out that the concept of ecological civilization has an important guiding role in the field of marine culture and tourism. "A profound understanding of the concept of ecological civilization will play a driving role in addressing the current global crises of climate change, biodiversity, and shared health," and film possesses immense power in disseminating this concept. It can be used more extensively to tell China's maritime and tourism stories, better showcasing China's maritime and ecological civilization to the world.

Wang Aimin, Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Hainan University and Chief Scientist of the Hainan Provincial Modern Marine Ranching Engineering Center, pointed out that the restored coral reef ecosystem, abundant marine life, and innovative artificial reef landscapes provide an excellent visual foundation and adventure narrative material for film and television creation, enabling a deep integration of "ecology + technology + humanities" and expanding the creative dimensions of tourism film.

To promote the incubation and implementation of film and television works on marine culture themes, a signing ceremony for the "Marine Culture Tourism Film Co-creation" was also held on-site. (End)
