Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – According to a report by the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Copenhagen, on November 19, 2025, Vietnam Airlines officially announced the launch of a direct flight route between Ho Chi Minh City and Copenhagen, Denmark, starting December 15, 2025.
This event, part of the "Vietnam-Europe Tourism Promotion Plan," was jointly organized by Vietnam Airlines, Vietnamese travel agencies, and Nordic partners. Representatives from the Vietnamese and Danish governments, diplomatic and tourism agencies, and businesses attended the event. The launch of this route marks significant progress in aviation, tourism, and trade between Vietnam and the Nordic region, and highlights Vietnam Airlines' pioneering role in expanding international routes.

This is the first direct flight connecting Vietnam and Denmark, and a new air bridge between Southeast Asia and the Nordic countries, reducing flight time to approximately 12 hours. The route will be operated by a wide-body Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, with three flights per week, providing passengers with the most comfortable flight experience.
Flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Copenhagen are expected to depart at 10:45 PM every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; return flights will depart at 10:50 AM every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. The launch of this route is seen as a strategic move in Vietnam Airlines' plan to expand its European route network, while also providing a boost to the growth of Vietnamese tourism in the Nordic market.
In addition to announcing the new route, Vietnam Airlines signed four important cooperation agreements with leading Danish partners to strengthen ties in the tourism and aviation sectors. These agreements will lay an important foundation for promoting the coordinated and sustainable development of the air-tourism value chain between Vietnam and the Nordic countries.
Ole Linnet Juul, Senior Chief Advisor of the Federation of Danish Industries, representing nearly 20,000 businesses in Nordic countries, expressed his delight at the launch of the Copenhagen-Ho Chi Minh City direct flight. He believes this new route will bring significant benefits to both countries.
The launch of this new route also fully demonstrates Vietnam's openness to the world. To date, Vietnam Airlines has launched direct flights to six European countries, and also covers other destinations worldwide. Vietnam is becoming a new hub in Asia for Danish companies, and especially for companies across Europe, demonstrating that Vietnam is fully leveraging the opportunities presented by the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
