
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – According to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade, from November 12th to 14th, 2025, in Washington D.C., under the chairmanship of Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade and Head of the Government Negotiation Delegation Nguyen Hong Dyen and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, the two sides continued technical negotiations on the Vietnam-U.S. Fair and Reciprocal Trade Agreement as planned, striving for more positive results.
Following the high-level talks between Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade and Head of the Government Negotiation Delegation Nguyen Hong Dyen and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade and Deputy Head of the Government Negotiation Delegation Nguyen Thanh Tan held a working meeting with U.S. Deputy Trade Representative Rick Switzer.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Tan exchanged views on the outcomes of the eighth round of ministerial-level negotiations held on November 10th, 2025, between Minister Nguyen Hong Dyen and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer; both sides reached consensus on some points to facilitate the continued progress of the technical negotiation teams of both countries and ensure maximum effectiveness of the negotiations. This is seen as a crucial next step, providing direction for the technical working groups in the negotiations and demonstrating both sides' commitment to promoting stable, balanced, fair, and sustainable trade cooperation.
U.S. Deputy Trade Representative Rick Switzer highly praised Vietnam's positive progress in trade policy, institutional reforms, and its commitment to international integration, as well as the results of previous rounds of negotiations. He emphasized that close cooperation between the two sides would create favorable conditions for the negotiation process.
Both sides agreed to continue close coordination and strengthen exchanges between the various technical working groups to advance the negotiations on a reciprocal trade agreement, in accordance with the instructions of the two countries' high-level leaders and ministers, striving to complete the new bilateral trade cooperation framework as soon as possible and further deepen the Vietnam-U.S. comprehensive strategic partnership.
That same afternoon, Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien held working talks with Rock Bordelon, Chairman of Gulf of America Energy Sourcing LLC (GAES), and senior executives Charles Paddock and Rodrigo Garza Perez. The company is headquartered in Louisiana.
Minister Nguyen Hong Dien expressed his approval and high appreciation for GAES's recommendations, emphasizing that Vietnam encourages participation in the development of Vietnam's liquefied natural gas (LNG) and energy infrastructure and markets. (End)
