Qingdao Port launches direct shipping routes to Southeast Asia

  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Shandong Port Qingdao Port Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Qingdao Port") announced on the 8th that with the inaugural vessel of the newly launched Mediterranean-Southeast Asia route (SAMBAR route) by Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) berthing at the port's Qianwan Container Terminal, Qingdao Port officially opened a direct shipping route to Southeast Asia, establishing a new direct logistics channel connecting Northern China and Southeast Asia.

  According to reports, the Mediterranean-Southeast Asia route plans to operate six vessels, with port calls covering Dalian, Tianjin New Port, Qingdao, and Dachang Bay, reaching Southeast Asian hubs such as Dong Nai in Vietnam, Laem Chabang in Thailand, and Singapore. This route will significantly improve trade efficiency between Northern China and Southeast Asia, providing enterprises with "fast and efficient" transportation options.

  "The new route brings tangible benefits to enterprises in the hinterland," said Xie Dongmei, Director of the Foreign Trade Business Department of Qingdao Port Group Development Co., Ltd. She explained that the port will provide high-quality services across the entire supply chain for the new route, helping "Made in China" products efficiently enter the Southeast Asian market, and opening a fast channel for the import of high-quality agricultural products and raw materials, achieving a smooth two-way "import and export cycle." Qingdao Port is a major international trade port and transshipment hub in China. Currently, it boasts nearly 240 international trade shipping routes, ranking first among ports in northern China. These routes connect to over 700 ports in more than 180 countries and regions worldwide, forming an international shipping pattern that links Japan and South Korea to the east, Central Asia to the west, ASEAN to the south, and Russia and Mongolia to the north. Since the beginning of this year, the port has continued to support the construction of Qingdao's international shipping center, opening 17 container shipping routes to the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
