Shanghai's 6th "11 Live Streaming Month" Launched

  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 6th "11 Live Streaming Month" and the Changning District Live Streaming Economy Cluster Theme Activities were launched on November 31st. The event was jointly hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and the Changning District People's Government of Shanghai.

  Zhou Lan, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, stated at the launch ceremony that the live streaming economy is profoundly reshaping business models and the consumption ecosystem. In recent years, Shanghai has been promoting the high-quality development of the live streaming economy. Monitoring data shows that in 2024, Shanghai's live streaming retail sales reached approximately 493.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.9%, ranking first among cities nationwide.

  To accelerate the implementation of the "Shanghai Three-Year Action Plan for Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Live Streaming Economy (2024-2026)," create live streaming event IPs, leverage Shanghai's advantages in live streaming e-commerce, activate consumption potential, and promote the high-quality development of the live streaming economy, the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce will organize the 6th "11 Live Streaming Month" from November 1st to November 15th, according to the annual plan.

  The "11 Live Streaming Month" event will widely mobilize high-quality market operators in Shanghai, including live streaming platforms, live streaming bases, multi-channel network agencies (MCNs), retail enterprises, and brand enterprises. Focusing on seven major sectors—domestic trendy products and time-honored brands, fashionable toys, local life, CIIE products, cultural tourism consumption, industrial empowerment, and digital commerce for rural revitalization—the event will feature over 60 diverse online and offline themed live streaming activities through specialized online live streams, online-offline integration, product experiences, and collaboration with counterpart support regions. These activities will include new product launches, price reductions, discounts, limited-time gifts, flash sales, lucky draws, and the distribution of red envelopes and coupons.

  At the launch ceremony, four live streaming economy clusters—Changning District, Yangpu District, Songjiang District, and Hongqiao International Central Business District—and Chongming District announced supporting activities. Seven key enterprises launched featured themed activities. The "Shanghai Online Anchor Training Base" was officially established in Changning District, and the "Changning District Live Streaming Economy Cluster Development and Construction Linkage Mechanism" was formally established.

  In addition, the Shanghai E-commerce Chamber of Commerce, along with representatives from companies such as Rongmomo, Trip.com, and Spring Airlines Travel, jointly launched a pilot initiative in Changning District for the local standard "Management Specifications for Quality E-commerce Live Streaming Rooms." The Shanghai International MCN Alliance also released the "China Good Products and Silk Road E-commerce Conference (Saudi Arabia)" project at the event. (End)
