All the injured have been sent to the hospital for treatment, and the driver, Li Moumou, was apprehended at the scene.
It is understood that at approximately 5:20 PM on May 1st, 2026, a traffic accident occurred on Jiannan Avenue in Chengdu High-tech Zone. Upon receiving the report, the police quickly organized officers to the scene and coordinated with 120 emergency medical services to provide medical treatment to the injured.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Li Moumou (male, 31 years old) was driving a small car and, while making a right turn at the intersection of Jiannan Avenue and Tianfu Fourth Street, collided with a pedestrian. Li Moumou then fled the scene, colliding with other vehicles and pedestrians during his escape. The accident resulted in one death and 11 injuries of varying degrees. All the injured have been sent to the hospital for treatment.
After the incident, the driver, Li, was apprehended at the scene. Preliminary investigation indicates that Li is suspected of hit-and-run. Tests have ruled out drunk driving and drug driving. The accident is currently under further investigation.
