Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the morning of the 19th, Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, experienced its Monday morning rush hour amidst persistent low temperatures and snowfall. Following a light snowfall the previous night, temperatures in the city had dropped to between -9.8°C and -2.9°C, triggering a yellow alert for icy roads.

To cope with the freezing weather, the Zhengzhou Municipal Urban Management Bureau quickly activated its snow and ice removal emergency mechanism on the evening of the 18th. As of 6:00 AM on the 19th, the city's urban management system had deployed over 27,000 personnel and over 800 pieces of machinery, spreading over 1,350 tons of de-icing agent. Currently, traffic on Zhengzhou's main and secondary roads and urban expressways is normal, and water, gas, and heating supplies are operating smoothly. Minor thin ice found on some sections of elevated roads has been promptly dealt with.

Monitoring by the Zhengzhou Meteorological Bureau shows that the main period of snowfall in Zhengzhou was concentrated between 2:00 PM and 11:00 PM on the 19th. The cumulative precipitation is expected to be 8 to 12 millimeters, with some areas reaching 13 to 15 millimeters.

According to the meteorological department, Zhengzhou will experience cloudy skies with heavy snow on the 19th, with a high of only -4 to -3℃ and a low of -9 to -8℃. The blue cold wave warning and the yellow road icing warning remain in effect.

The Zhengzhou Municipal Urban Management Bureau stated that it will continue to monitor weather changes and promptly organize snow removal and de-icing operations. Citizens are reminded to pay attention to safety when traveling, wear non-slip shoes when walking, drive slowly and avoid sudden braking and turns, and exercise extra caution when passing bridges, culverts, and shady sections of road. Do not linger under billboards, temporary structures, or old trees to prevent accidents.

The Zhengzhou Municipal Urban Management Bureau also encourages all street-facing businesses and shops to proactively clear snow from their premises to jointly maintain a safe travel environment in Zhengzhou. (End)
