  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) Recently, the Intellectual Property, Standards and Metrology Department of the Khon District Industry and Trade Bureau in Champasak Province centrally destroyed expired, prohibited, and illegal goods and medicines seized during inspections of local markets and shops. These goods posed safety risks to human health.

  Buasi Chaprasayaong, head of the Intellectual Property, Standards and Metrology Department of the Champasak Industrial and Commercial District Office, explained that a total of 102 problematic items were destroyed, including expired consumer goods, prohibited goods, illegally imported goods, and substandard or unlicensed medicines.

  Buasi stated that legally destroying such illegal goods is an important measure to implement market supervision requirements and regulate commodity prices and quality control. The core purpose is to protect the health and safety of consumers. At the same time, this action also aims to urge merchants to fulfill their responsibilities, regularly inspect the condition of their goods, and strictly prohibit the sale of spoiled or illegal goods to the public.
