Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – According to a report by the Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Prague, Vietjet Air is actively working towards launching a new route between Hanoi and Prague, Czech Republic, and plans to establish a technical stop in Almaty, Kazakhstan, further expanding its air route network between Vietnam and Central Europe.

The Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan has officially approved the operating permit for the Hanoi-Prague route. The route is scheduled to commence operations on July 11, 2026, with two flights per week operated by Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft.

Once all relevant formalities are completed and confirmed, this route will become one of the few scheduled passenger routes connecting northern Vietnam and Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, in recent years, effectively meeting the growing air travel demand in Vietnam, the Czech Republic, and along the route.

Notably, leveraging Kazakhstan's "Open Skies" policy, Vietjet Air has successfully obtained fifth freedom rights. With this air traffic right, Vietjet Air can not only operate passenger and cargo transport services between Vietnam and the Czech Republic, but also conduct independent commercial operations on the Almaty-Prague segment.

According to the operational plan, the route will adopt a segmented operation model of "Hanoi – Almaty – Prague," allowing passengers to flexibly purchase full-journey tickets or select individual segments such as Prague to Almaty, offering more flexible and diverse travel options.

The opening of the new route will provide a convenient travel channel for Vietnamese expatriates in the Czech Republic, while further promoting exchanges and cooperation between Vietnam and Kazakhstan, as well as Central European countries, in tourism, trade, and cultural fields.

Currently, all relevant units are making every effort to advance the technical preparations for the opening of the route, which is expected to officially launch in the summer of 2026. (End)
