Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh meets with students who won awards in international competitions

  Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On December 26th, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with 91 students in Hanoi who achieved outstanding results in international competitions in 2025. He warmly congratulated the students and encouraged them to strive harder and contribute to the country.

  According to the Ministry of Education and Training, over the past 10 years, Vietnamese students have participated in various regional and international Olympiads, winning a total of 434 international awards (132 gold, 169 silver, and 133 bronze) and numerous certificates of honor in cultural and basic science courses.

  In the 2024-2025 academic year, Vietnam sent seven delegations to participate in regional and international Olympiads in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and informatics. All 37 participating students won awards, totaling 13 gold, 16 silver, and 8 bronze medals. Notably, in the International Chemistry Olympiad, all four Vietnamese students won gold medals, achieving a record-breaking result. Vietnam also participated in the International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad for the first time, ranking 4th out of 60 participating countries. In 2025, the Vietnamese delegation achieved its best-ever results (two second prizes and one third prize) at the International Science and Engineering Competition held in the United States.

  Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that respect for teachers and diligence in learning are precious values ​​accumulated over thousands of years of Vietnamese history and are important endogenous driving forces for national development.

  With the high attention paid by the Party and the State and the joint efforts of the whole society, Vietnam's education has continuously developed and achieved commendable results. Vietnam is currently among the 21 countries in the world that have achieved the "Quality Education" target of the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals ahead of schedule.

In the Politburo resolutions on achieving the centenary goals, people were identified as the most important and decisive factor.

  Pham Minh Chinh urged ministries and regions to increase investment in education and training, prioritizing the discovery and cultivation of talent, while also focusing on selecting and training outstanding teachers and coaches. The Ministry of Education and Training is leading the development of a "Program for the Discovery and Cultivation of Vietnamese Youth Talent."

  Pham Minh Chinh hopes that students will maintain their excellent academic performance, learn from the role models of their predecessors, continuously improve their abilities, become useful citizens, and make positive contributions to national development. (End)
