Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – During his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and attendance at the 2025 Dubai Airshow, Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, and Deputy Minister of National Defense of Vietnam, met with Lieutenant General Ibrahim Nasser Al-Alawi, Deputy Minister of National Defense of the UAE.
Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien stated at the meeting that the 2025 Dubai Airshow and the 2025 International Air Force Commanders Conference (DIACC) further solidified the UAE's position as a leading aerospace and defense industry center in the region and globally, fully demonstrating the UAE's strategic vision, professional organizational capabilities, and international reputation.
Both sides highly appreciated the positive progress in defense cooperation between the two countries in recent years, particularly in the areas of mutual visits by delegations at all levels, active support for and participation in various international defense exhibitions, and attendance at conferences and seminars jointly hosted by both sides.
General Hoang Xuan Chien suggested that both sides strengthen defense consultations and hold a vice-ministerial level defense policy dialogue; promote the signing of a memorandum of understanding on defense industry cooperation; strengthen defense industry cooperation, including cooperation between the Vietnam General Department of Defense Industry, Vietjet Group, and major defense industry groups in the UAE; and also suggested that the UAE Ministry of Defense support the establishment of a Vietnamese defense attaché office.
On this occasion, General Hoang Xuan Chien cordially invited Lieutenant General Al-Lewi and the UAE Minister of State for Defense to visit Vietnam and attend the 3rd Vietnam International Defense Exhibition, scheduled to be held in Hanoi at the end of 2026.
Lieutenant General Al-Lewi acknowledged the suggestions made by General Hoang Xuan Chien and pledged to actively promote the implementation of the cooperation agreements agreed upon by both sides.
Previously, General Hoang Xuan Chien paid a courtesy call on Crown Prince Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum of the UAE. (End)
