Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The 5th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Nature Education Forum was held on the 14th at the West Lake Scenic Area in Huizhou. A Greater Bay Area Nature Education Market was launched concurrently, with over 40 nature education institutions setting up stalls, attracting a large number of citizens to participate.

This event was jointly organized by the Guangdong Provincial Forestry Bureau, the Hong Kong Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department, and the Macao Municipal Affairs Bureau, aiming to further promote the creation of a high-quality nature education "circle" in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The Greater Bay Area Nature Education Market fully utilized the beautiful scenery of Huizhou West Lake, emphasizing "non-stop daytime and evening visits," innovatively integrating nature education with "nightlife." The market featured three main types of stalls: displays, interactive exhibits, and product displays. Reporters observed various migratory bird atlases, animal models, insect specimens, and more. Many citizens actively participated in activities such as plant and animal observation and identification, introductions to traditional Chinese medicine, and a quiz with prizes.

As one of the first batch of national demonstration provinces for nature education, Guangdong has proactively aligned itself with the ecological construction requirements of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in recent years, working hand in hand with Hong Kong and Macao to promote forestry ecological protection and nature education. For five consecutive years, Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao have jointly held nature education forums and carnivals, creating branded events such as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Nature Education Season and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Nature Observation Competition.

To date, Guangdong has established 115 provincial-level nature education bases, 148 nature education venues, and 141 distinctive nature education trails. A relevant official from the Guangdong Provincial Forestry Bureau stated that Guangdong will learn from the advanced concepts of nature education in Hong Kong and Macao, strengthening exchanges and cooperation in areas such as event planning, talent cultivation, and industrial development, building a number of high-quality nature education bases and trails, and developing a series of excellent nature education courses, branded activities, and cultural and creative products.

"We must pool our resources to actively promote the development of nature education in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area," said Yip Yin, Assistant Director (Country Parks) of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of Hong Kong. He noted that the Hung Fa Ling Country Park in Hong Kong is connected to the Wutong Mountain in Shenzhen, forming an ecological corridor linking the two areas. Hong Kong will strengthen cooperation with Shenzhen to promote ecological integration between the two cities and launch a series of promotional activities to encourage the public to explore the rich scenery, biodiversity, and cultural history of Honghualing.

Zhao Huiming, Director of the Landscape and Greening Department of the Municipal Affairs Bureau of Macao, stated that she will continue to lead Macao residents to explore the Greater Bay Area, learn about the natural ecological work in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, and continue to promote the concept of nature conservation to drive a green future.
