Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Cambodia's Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Foreign Affairs have launched a deep inter-departmental cooperation initiative to promote Cambodia's tourism resources globally, leveraging the country's network of embassies and consulates.
On March 3, Cambodian Minister of Tourism, Hua Ha, held a working meeting with 43 ambassadors, permanent diplomatic representatives, and consuls general. The meeting focused on three core objectives: enhancing international reputation, exploring diversified markets, and showcasing the national image. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on how to precisely promote Cambodia's tourism appeal through diplomatic channels.
In light of the current complex and volatile global geopolitical environment, participants jointly discussed new strategies for attracting international tourists. The meeting emphasized the need to build a more resilient tourism development system to enhance Cambodia's core competitiveness in the international tourism market.
This strategic cooperation focuses on the dual promotion of Cambodia's "soft power" and "hard environment": deeply exploring its unique tourism resources such as cultural heritage, natural ecology, and coastal leisure; highlighting Khmer traditional culture, religious customs, distinctive cuisine, and the "Khmer Smile"—core brand elements; and leveraging the country's peaceful and stable environment and favorable investment climate to comprehensively showcase Cambodia's development potential.
Next, Cambodia will strengthen inter-departmental collaboration and leverage the promotional role of its embassies and consulates abroad, under the principles of "unity, dynamism, and stakeholder engagement," to drive the leapfrog development of the tourism industry and attract more international tourists and investors to Cambodia.
