  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the morning of July 5, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Nguyen Khok Dinh and his delegation paid a courtesy visit to General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith, in Vientiane. Earlier, on the afternoon of July 4, a Vietnamese National Assembly delegation paid a courtesy visit to President of the Lao National Assembly, Saysomphon Phomvihane.

  Laos highly valued the visit of the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation, saying it was an opportunity for the Lao National Assembly and the Lao National Constitutional Revision Committee to learn from each other's experiences and contribute to the revision of the 2015 Constitution. It will contribute to further strengthening and promoting the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, two countries, and two peoples, especially the two legislative bodies.

  General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and President of Laos, Thongloun Sisoulith, supported the joint compilation and publication of a book on the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos parliamentary relations between the two parliaments and suggested that the Vietnamese National Assembly continue to share its experience in constitutional revision and other areas of cooperation with the Lao National Assembly.

  Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Nguyen Khok Dinh expressed his delight at the tremendous achievements made by the Lao people in overcoming difficult times and ensuring security and political stability. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khok Dinh reported to Lao leaders on the outcomes of his working visit to Laos, the results of the official talks between the two parliaments, the academic symposium on constitutional reform experiences between the Vietnamese and Lao parliaments, and the results of the legislative research experience seminar between the two parliaments. Nguyen Khok Dinh stated that his visit to Laos aims to implement the cooperation agreement between the two parliaments, focusing on sharing Vietnam's experience in constitutional reform, legislation, and legal amendments.

  Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khok Dinh emphasized that Vietnam is willing to support Laos in its 2024 chair of the ASEAN/ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Association Assembly (AIPA), thereby enhancing Laos' role and status in the region and international arena.

  That morning, the two parliaments held a legislative research experience seminar. Prior to that, Vice Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly Nguyen Khok Dinh held talks with Vice Chairman of the Lao National Assembly Chaleun Yiapaoher. The two sides briefed each other on recent economic and social developments and outstanding activities of the two parliaments, as well as plans for furthering cooperation between the two parliaments.
