Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On June 17th, Xue Bing, Vice Mayor of Bozhou Municipal People's Government, led a delegation to the China-Laos Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Zone in Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Yunnan Province, to discuss trade and economic cooperation in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with Southeast Asia.
The delegation visited the Mohan Railway Port, the border trade wholesale market, and the Mohan Highway Port, gaining a detailed understanding of the cooperation zone's advanced experience in mechanism innovation, land planning, industrial layout, and port construction.
Following the visit, both sides watched a promotional video for Bozhou and engaged in in-depth discussions on future cooperation.
Xue Bing pointed out that the China-Laos Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Zone's TCM import border port is about to be approved, indicating significant future development potential. Bozhou, as the world's largest distribution center for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), is currently striving to become a "World Capital of TCM," a "National Highland for TCM Industry," and a "Bridgehead" for TCM to enter the international market. The potential for cooperation between the two sides in promoting the development of the TCM industry is enormous, and both sides can fully leverage their respective advantages to strengthen cooperation and coordination in areas such as TCM processing and import/export trade, achieving mutual benefit and win-win results.

Fu Kejie, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of the China-Laos Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Zone, stated that the cooperation zone will fully utilize its geographical advantages of connecting Southeast Asia's abundant medicinal resources and vast market, as well as its policy synergy, to actively engage in in-depth cooperation with Bozhou in areas such as TCM processing and import/export trade, helping Bozhou to build itself into a "World Capital of TCM," a "National Highland for TCM Industry," and a "Bridgehead" for TCM to enter the international market.
The China-Laos Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Zone is located at the border of Yunnan Province, China and Luang Namtha Province, Laos. Situated at a key node of the China-Laos Railway, the Kunming-Bangkok International Highway, and the Lao North-South Highway, it borders Laos and is adjacent to Thailand. It is one of the transportation hubs between China and the Indochina Peninsula, and one of the few border areas in China with both land and rail ports. It is one of the two national-level cross-border economic cooperation zones jointly established by China and its neighboring countries, and the first officially approved cross-border economic cooperation zone in Yunnan Province. Its planned construction area is 34.67 square kilometers, and its total import and export value reached 43 billion yuan in 2023.
The main leaders of the Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Bozhou Customs, and Qiaocheng Economic Development Zone participated in the cooperation negotiation activities.
