Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On April 9, 2026, the launching ceremony for Phase I (LDP1) of the long-term production expansion project of Lao Beer Co., Ltd. was held. As the core opening chapter of the company's ten-year development plan, this project aims to strengthen Laos' industrial strength and economic resilience through modernization and upgrading, injecting long-term momentum into the country's sustainable development. His Excellency Santaph Phomvihane, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Laos, the Vice Minister of Industry and Commerce, the Vice Minister of Agriculture and Environment, the Chairman of the Hat Yai Phong District Administrative Committee, the Danish Ambassadors to Vietnam and Laos, the Vice President of Carlsberg Group Asia, and other government and business representatives and relevant personnel attended the ceremony to witness this important moment.

It is reported that the total investment in the LDP1 project reaches €50.2 million (approximately 1.18 trillion Lao Kip). The core objective is to upgrade the existing factory into a modern and sustainable production base. The project will construct a new high-speed integrated production line with a designed capacity of 45,000 bottles of beer per hour, capable of simultaneously producing both cans and PET packaging, achieving efficient compatibility of multiple product categories within a single system. Simultaneously, the project will establish a water resource management system adapted to future development, improving operational efficiency, optimizing human resource effectiveness, and precisely controlling production costs through technological upgrades, laying the foundation for the company's long-term market competitiveness.

From an economic perspective, the LDP1 project is considered a significant contributor to Laos' economic development: it will not only directly create more jobs but also strengthen the domestic manufacturing sector, enhance the resilience of the supply chain, and provide the Lao government with continuous and stable tax and tariff revenue, achieving a two-way empowerment of both enterprise development and the national economy.

In his address, His Excellency Santapha Phonvihane, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Laos, stated, “This investment of over €50 million is not only a significant milestone and breakthrough in the development of Lao Beer Co., Ltd., but also fully demonstrates international investors’ strong confidence in Laos’ investment environment. The Lao government believes that this business expansion is a model of deep public-private partnership and sends a positive signal to global investors – Laos remains a stable and reliable long-term investment destination.”

Mr. Henrik Jules Anderson, CEO of Lao Beer Co., Ltd., emphasized, “LDP1 is not merely a capacity expansion, but also embodies our long-term commitment to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. We will continue to contribute substantially to the country’s economic development through capacity upgrades and efficiency improvements.”

Mr. Joe Abekasis, Senior Vice President and Director of Asia at Carlsberg Group, stated, “Laos is a key part of Carlsberg’s Asian growth strategy. Through in-depth cooperation with Lao Beer Co., Ltd., we are focusing on long-term capacity building, strengthening regional industrial capabilities, and fully supporting the achievement of local sustainable growth goals.” (End)
