Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On Wednesday local time, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Da Nang-Cheung Friendship Hospital in Tha Dang District, Cheong Kong Province, Laos, officially commenced construction.
The hospital, funded by the Da Nang Municipal Government of Vietnam with US$6.7 million, will be built in 36 months and will provide modern medical services to the local community, which currently suffers from relatively scarce medical resources.
Bounle Bouthi, Secretary of the Cheong Kong Provincial Party Committee, Le Ngoc Quang, Secretary of the Da Nang Municipal Party Committee, senior officials from both sides, representatives from the Lao Ministry of Health, and heads of the provincial and district governments attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
In his speech, Bounle Bouthi stated that the Da Nang-Cheung Friendship Hospital is a precious gift from the Da Nang Municipal Party Committee, Government, and people to Cheong Kong Province, fully demonstrating the long-standing and special friendly relationship between Laos and Vietnam and symbolizing the brotherly friendship of mutual support between the two countries. Once operational, the hospital will significantly improve the accessibility of medical services in Tha Dang District and surrounding areas, effectively alleviating the difficulties faced by local residents in accessing medical care due to distance and economic constraints.
The hospital's main building is a two-story structure, complemented by staff dormitories, a canteen, laundry room, morgue, sewage treatment system, and generators. Ancillary works, including internal roads, parking lots, a perimeter wall, security posts, transformers, and landscaping, will also be completed simultaneously.
Bounle Bouthi appealed to relevant departments, local governments, and the public to fully support the project, work closely with the construction team, and strictly adhere to Lao laws, regulations, and technical design requirements to ensure high standards of project quality, construction safety, and environmental protection.
Songkhram Phung Vilay, Director of the contractor, Chalen Sothot Co., Ltd., stated that the company will select a professional technical team, use high-quality building materials, and strictly adhere to the construction plan to ensure the project is completed on schedule and to a high standard, creating a modern, durable, and environmentally friendly landmark of friendship, a lasting symbol of win-win cooperation between Da Nang and Chea Kong Province.
