Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The highly influential Inhang Temple Festival in Savannakhet Province, Laos, will officially kick off on November 30, 2025, and run until December 5. This year's festival will feature a series of diverse activities, aiming to preserve local culture while vigorously promoting local tourism.
In addition to the usual product exhibitions and sales, the cultural performances at this year's festival are particularly anticipated. People, students, and art groups from 14 districts in Savannakhet Province and Kaysone Phomvihane City will present traditional art performances and literary displays showcasing the unique characteristics of their respective regions, highlighting the local cultural heritage. As a special feature of the event, a grand beekeeping festival will be held on December 4, along with a beekeeping competition for villagers, adding a unique local vitality to the festival.
Mr. Khoviset Prasaysombat, responsible for cultural affairs and cultural market management, explained that the cultural exhibition area set up during the festival will be a highlight. The exhibition area will not only showcase and sell handicrafts, distinctive textiles, local delicacies, and other folk specialties, but will also feature a variety of cultural experiences—traditional dance performances, lively evening gatherings, characteristic song and dance performances, bamboo mat banquets to sample local cuisine, live demonstrations of traditional medical treatments, storytelling of traditional doctors, and classic puppet shows, allowing participants to fully experience the folk customs of Savannakhet Province. He specifically mentioned that compared to last year, this year's Wat Ing Hang festival will be significantly larger in scale and richer in content, with a more vibrant atmosphere.
It is worth mentioning that the core focus of this festival—the Phra That Ing Hang Buddha statue—is a sacred image in the hearts of the people of Savannakhet Province and a national cultural heritage site of Laos. This centuries-old Buddha statue has now become a highly representative tourist landmark in Savannakhet Province, attracting numerous devotees and tourists.
