Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On Friday, the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) held its 35th anniversary awards ceremony at the National Convention Center (NCC). Lao Prime Minister Somsay Siphandone attended and highly praised the innovative thinking, hard work, and perseverance of Lao entrepreneurs.

The ceremony recognized 89 companies across 12 sectors, including manufacturing and processing, trade, information technology, and energy and mining, encompassing both domestic and foreign-invested enterprises. The event brought together government and business leaders, including Minister of Industry and Commerce Marathon Kongmashy, the president and vice-presidents of the LNCCI, representatives from government and business associations, and entrepreneurs from various regions.

Prime Minister Somsay stated that the ceremony was not only an award but also a recognition of the significant contributions made by the business community and outstanding entrepreneurs to the country's socio-economic development. He pointed out that the country's economic success is largely attributable to entrepreneurs – those who establish businesses, create jobs and income, and whose expansion drives production and attracts investment. These contributions are tangible forces in creating jobs, improving people's livelihoods, and enhancing the country's status.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the government will continue to improve the business environment and ensure the efficient implementation of all measures through clear policies, transparent laws, and reliable regulations. Looking ahead to the 10th National Socio-Economic Development Plan (2026-2030), he proposed a green and sustainable development policy, calling on the private sector to actively participate in the implementation of the "Self-Reliant Economy" strategy: to conduct business with green and sustainable principles, play a key role in strengthening infrastructure construction, and leverage connectivity with neighboring countries such as China and Vietnam to promote trade, investment, and tourism; to develop development zones, industrial parks, and special economic zones to expand international trade cooperation; and to promote innovation and human resource development, utilize modern technologies, develop high-value-added products, and transform towards a digital economy.

Davayne Phetchhanthavong, Vice President of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that the organization has been an important bridge between the government and the private sector for thirty years, consistently committed to creating a favorable business environment and encouraging enterprises to adapt to change and develop resiliently.

Prime Minister Somsay stated at the closing ceremony that the award winners have become role models for outstanding entrepreneurs, and their achievements will greatly inspire young entrepreneurs, demonstrating the transformative power of the private sector in building Laos' prosperous and sustainable future. This awards ceremony is a landmark event, recognizing the indispensable role of the business community in driving national socio-economic transformation and achieving development goals.
