Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – To strictly safeguard the safety of offshore energy development in the eastern South China Sea and ensure a stable and smooth energy supply for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Huizhou Maritime Safety Administration launched a special patrol operation covering all oil and gas platforms in the eastern South China Sea on May 11. This operation employs round-the-clock monitoring, multi-dimensional supervision, and proactive services to build a solid safety barrier for offshore energy operations.

According to the Huizhou Maritime Safety Administration, as of May 13, the special patrol is still progressing smoothly. The patrol and inspection of the Huixi platform waters have been successfully completed, and enforcement forces are now moving to the Lufeng platform operation area to continue conducting safety patrols throughout the entire waterway.

The oil and gas fields in the eastern South China Sea are a crucial national energy strategic hub and a vital energy pillar for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The navigation environment in the oil and gas platform operation waters is complex, with a high density of vessels, making safety supervision a significant responsibility. This special patrol, based on the working objectives of "full coverage, key monitoring, hidden danger investigation, and proactive service," focused on the safety of oil and gas platforms, FPSOs, underwater oil pipelines, mooring facilities, and surrounding vessels. It closely monitored key aspects such as navigation order, pollution prevention and control, and emergency response, conducting continuous patrols and controls in key oil and gas field waters to resolutely safeguard the red line of safety for offshore energy operations.

During the patrol, Huizhou maritime law enforcement officers fully utilized the intelligent maritime supervision system to construct a three-dimensional supervision model of "remote monitoring + on-site patrol + VHF linkage," dynamically monitoring the areas surrounding oil and gas platforms and core operational waters. Addressing the risk of small boats and fishing vessels accidentally entering and obstructing navigation in the offshore operation area, law enforcement officers accurately located obstructing vessels through the system and immediately conducted safety reminders and persuasion to drive them away via VHF high-frequency calls, quickly clearing navigational obstacles in the waters. Throughout the patrol, they ensured smooth and orderly navigation in the platform operation waters, preventing safety risks such as collisions between commercial and fishing vessels and pipeline contact from the source.

Next, the Huizhou Maritime Safety Administration will continue to intensify its comprehensive patrol mission, conducting thorough inspections of key oil and gas platform clusters in Panyu, Enping, Baiyun, and Liuhua. It will also strengthen dynamic monitoring of offshore waters, risk and hazard investigation and rectification, and emergency response coordination. With high standards, strict requirements, and practical measures, the administration will safeguard the safe and unimpeded flow of maritime energy channels in the eastern South China Sea, providing solid and reliable maritime protection for the nation's energy powerhouse construction, the stable energy supply of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the high-quality development of Huizhou's petrochemical industry.
