Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – In response to the recent persistent and severe weather, Bui Minh Thanh, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, issued a work plan on the 13th, requiring all departments, local units, relevant institutions, and individuals in the city to quickly implement emergency prevention and control measures, make every effort to prevent meteorological disaster risks, and effectively ensure the absolute safety of tourists and their property at major tourist attractions within the city limits.
According to official requirements, all tourist attractions, scenic spots, and historical and cultural sites in the city must immediately suspend tourist reception and completely terminate all outdoor cultural and tourism activities after a natural disaster warning is issued. At the same time, a comprehensive inspection of safety hazards in scenic area infrastructure must be carried out, and all facilities and equipment must be reinforced and repaired in a timely manner. Human and material resources must be allocated in advance, and sufficient flood control emergency supplies must be stockpiled to solidify the foundation of safety protection.
The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee particularly emphasized that tourist attractions located in low-lying areas, along rivers, along the coast, and in mountainous areas must refine and improve their emergency plans for the evacuation and relocation of people and property in case of floods, clearly define responsibilities, and ensure that evacuation work can be carried out quickly before a dangerous situation occurs. In addition, swimming in the sea and participating in any water recreation activities are strictly prohibited throughout the city. During periods of strong winds and heavy rain, all tourist vessels are prohibited from leaving port to strictly control maritime safety risks.
According to the meteorological and hydrological observatory of the Southern Region, thunderstorms will continue in Ho Chi Minh City and other southern provinces and cities until mid-July. Localized areas are prone to heavy rain and flooding. Special attention should be paid to preventing tornadoes, lightning, strong gusts, and other severe convective weather disasters. (End)
