Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the morning of June 20th, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee held a special meeting to officially announce the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City News and Broadcasting Agency. The relevant resolutions will be officially implemented on July 1, 2026. This institutional restructuring is a key measure for building a mainstream core multimedia news platform, aiming to adapt to the new media development situation in the era of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, and comprehensively upgrade the local news and public opinion dissemination system.
According to the officially announced restructuring plan, the Ho Chi Minh City News and Broadcasting Agency is a public institution directly under the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, integrating four core member units: the *Saigon Liberation Daily*, the electronic version of *Tuoi Tre*, the Ho Chi Minh City Radio and Television Station, and the Training and Media Center, achieving integrated management of local mainstream newspapers, radio and television, new media, and media training resources.
At the meeting, Le Quoc Phong, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, pointed out that the establishment of the new agency has significant strategic importance, marking the formal completion of the systematic integration of resources, experience, and strengths of Ho Chi Minh City's mainstream news media. The new operating model will build a comprehensive multimedia media matrix with broader influence and stronger dissemination capabilities, further enhancing the quality and effectiveness of official public opinion propaganda and helping local media deeply adapt to the development trends of media in the new era.
Regarding the subsequent operation of the organization, Li Guofeng put forward clear work requirements. He emphasized that the new organization needs to accelerate the completion of organizational structure building and personnel allocation and integration, and scientifically formulate phased work plans and medium- and long-term development plans. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure the smooth and orderly progress of news and propaganda work across all platforms, preventing problems such as interruptions in information dissemination and gaps in propaganda work, and ensuring the continuity and stability of public opinion propaganda work.
Regarding the innovative development of media digitalization, Li Guofeng emphasized that the new organization should take digital transformation as its core foundation and take the lead in building an integrated media communication ecosystem. While inheriting the tradition of red news and adhering to the characteristics of local media, it should actively empower modern media means such as digital technology and artificial intelligence to comprehensively improve the efficiency of the entire chain of news content production, processing, distribution, and dissemination, achieving accurate, efficient, and real-time delivery of authoritative government information and social news across various communication platforms.
Le Van Minh, the relevant official, stated that he will lead the new leadership team and all editors and journalists to quickly streamline the organization's operational mechanisms, stabilize daily work order, strictly adhere to the media's mission and functional positioning, and promote the normalization and standardization of all business operations. Next, the team will focus on improving content quality and upgrading, continuously optimizing newspaper content, radio and television programs, and various digital new media products, carefully crafting high-quality special columns, and accurately meeting the diverse and high-quality information dissemination needs of the public.
It is understood that the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh City News and Radio & Television Agency will solidify the foundation of the local mainstream multimedia news dissemination system and significantly improve the professionalism and digitalization of news and publicity work. At the same time, this media integration reform will powerfully promote the digital and integrated transformation and upgrading of the media industry in Ho Chi Minh City and even the entire Vietnam, injecting new momentum into the high-quality development of the regional media industry.
