  Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – A press conference for the 2026 Africa Day was held on May 11th at the Somali Embassy in China. The conference announced that the “2026 Africa Day Cultural Festival” will be held on May 23rd at Chaoyang Park in Beijing.

  It was explained that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Africa, and is also the “China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges.” Against this important backdrop, the cultural festival is not only a grand event showcasing the charm of African culture, but also an important platform for deepening China-Africa friendship, promoting people-to-people connectivity, and strengthening exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations.

  “Africa is a continent full of vitality, creativity, and development opportunities. The cultural festival will open a window for Chinese friends to perceive, understand, and connect with Africa through cultural exchanges, interactive experiences, and joint celebrations,” said Martin Mpana, Head of the African Mission to China and Ambassador of Cameroon to China. He added that the festival aims to further promote people-to-people connectivity between China and Africa, allowing the Chinese public to gain a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of the real and diverse Africa.

  The event, jointly organized by the embassies of African countries in China, will showcase the rich traditional culture and contemporary innovation of Africa through national pavilions, cultural displays, and interactive experiences. The event covers a wide range of fields, including fashion and art, handicrafts, tourism promotion, music and dance, food tasting, creative industries, and investment cooperation, offering the public an immersive and diverse "African experience."
