Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) April 13 – Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission, met in Beijing with Khalid al-Din, Special Envoy for China Affairs of the UAE President, who accompanied Crown Prince Khalid of Abu Dhabi on his visit to China.
Wang Yi stated that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-UAE relations have maintained a good momentum of development. Crown Prince Khalid's visit is a significant event in bilateral relations, and he believes that through joint efforts, the visit will be a complete success, further enhancing strategic mutual trust and deepening pragmatic cooperation between the two countries, which is particularly important given the current international and regional situation.
Wang Yi elaborated on China's principled position on the current situation in the Middle East, stating that China fully understands the legitimate security concerns of the Gulf Arab states and supports the UAE in safeguarding its national sovereignty, security, and legitimate rights and interests. Blocking the Strait of Hormuz is not in the common interest of the international community; achieving a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire through political and diplomatic means is the fundamental solution. China has always been actively committed to promoting peace and ending war and is willing to work with the international community, including the UAE, to push for the early return of peace and tranquility to the Middle East.
Khaledon thanked China for the warm and thoughtful arrangements made for Crown Prince Khalid's visit to China, stating that the UAE regards China as its "second home" and a special and friendly comprehensive strategic partner.
