According to the Ministry of Transport of China, on February 20th (the 19th day of the Spring Festival travel rush, the fourth day of the Lunar New Year), the total cross-regional passenger flow is expected to reach 352.09 million person-times, an increase of 3.7% compared to the previous day and 12.0% compared to the same period in 2025.
Among them, railway passenger volume is expected to reach 15 million person-times, an increase of 10.8% compared to the previous day and 12.1% compared to the same period in 2025.
Road passenger flow is expected to reach 332.59 million person-times, an increase of 3.4% compared to the previous day and 12.0% compared to the same period in 2025. Among them, commercial road passenger traffic is expected to reach 28.29 million person-times; non-commercial passenger car travel on expressways and ordinary national and provincial highways is expected to reach 304.3 million person-times.
Waterway passenger traffic is expected to reach 1.93 million person-times, an increase of 5.5% compared to the previous day and 31.4% compared to the same period in 2025. Civil aviation passenger traffic is estimated at 2.57 million, a 1.9% increase compared to the previous period and an 8.0% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
On February 19th (the 18th day of the Spring Festival travel rush, the third day of the Lunar New Year), the total cross-regional passenger flow reached 339.411 million, a 5.1% increase compared to the previous period and an 11.6% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
Among them, railway passenger traffic reached 13.539 million, a 25.4% increase compared to the previous period and a 14.4% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
Road passenger traffic reached 321.52 million, a 4.3% increase compared to the previous period and an 11.5% increase compared to the same period in 2025. Of these, commercial road passenger traffic reached 25.51 million; non-commercial passenger car travel on expressways and ordinary national and provincial highways reached 296.01 million.
Waterway passenger traffic reached 1.829 million, a 16.9% increase compared to the previous period and a 27.9% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
