Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – Recently, the Wuhan Maritime Safety Administration, together with the Taicang and Pudong Maritime Safety Administrations of Jiangsu Province, jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Pilot Project for Integrated Credit Management of Container Ships in the Yangtze River Delta Region at Taicang Port, Jiangsu Province. This marks the launch of the pilot project for integrated credit management of container ships in the Yangtze River Delta region.
The pilot project will run for three years, starting in 2025, and will gradually build a credit management system covering the entire chain from pre-event to post-event stages. It aims to improve the safety, efficiency, and environmental protection of container ship transportation through cross-regional credit management collaboration.
According to the memorandum, the three parties will establish a regular consultation and joint working mechanism, unify credit evaluation standards, and promote the sharing and mutual recognition of ship credit information. Key areas of cooperation include exploring the implementation of a classified and graded credit management system for container ships, conducting joint incentives for good credit, and strengthening information sharing on ship safety and environmental protection behaviors. Ships with good credit will be eligible for incentives such as reduced inspection frequency, priority for anchoring operations, and convenient port and shipping services, further optimizing the operating environment for shipping companies.
A relevant official from the Wuhan Maritime Safety Administration stated that the administration will take this cross-regional cooperation pilot project as an opportunity to actively participate in the integrated development of maritime credit in the Yangtze River Delta, continuously strengthen information sharing and business collaboration, and strive to build a new maritime regulatory framework of "co-construction, co-governance, and sharing," injecting new impetus into the high-quality development of shipping in the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Yangtze River Delta region.
