Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – On December 4th, at noon, President Xi Jinping and French President Macron jointly attended the closing ceremony of the 7th China-France Business Council Meeting in Beijing and delivered speeches.
Xi Jinping pointed out that this year marks the beginning of a new 60-year cycle in China-France relations. Economic and trade cooperation between the two countries has continued to expand and its resilience has been strengthened. In the first 10 months, bilateral trade reached US$68.75 billion, and cumulative two-way investment exceeded US$27 billion. Both sides should uphold the original aspirations of establishing diplomatic relations, seize opportunities, deepen cooperation, promote the steady and long-term development of bilateral relations, jointly write a more beautiful chapter in China-France cooperation, and use the stability of China-France relations to cope with the uncertainties of today's world.
Firstly, continuously expanding new areas of bilateral economic and trade cooperation. China regards France as an important and indispensable economic and trade partner, welcomes France's active participation in China's modernization process, and supports capable and willing Chinese enterprises to invest and do business in France. Both sides should explore the cooperation potential in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, green and digital economy, biomedicine, and the silver economy, continuously promote open cooperation in industrial and supply chains, and provide a fair, transparent, non-discriminatory, and predictable business environment for enterprises of both countries.
Second, both sides should continue to promote new developments in mutually beneficial cooperation between China and the EU. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the EU. The essence of China-EU economic and trade relations is complementary advantages and mutual benefit, which can achieve a dynamic balance in development. Interdependence is not a risk, and intertwined interests are not a threat. China and France should promote the adherence to the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and the EU, and jointly create a brighter next 50 years for China-EU relations.
Third, both sides should jointly make new contributions to reforming and improving global governance. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War and the founding of the United Nations. In order to promote the building of a more just and reasonable global governance system, following the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative, I proposed the Global Governance Initiative in September this year. China and France should practice genuine multilateralism, jointly safeguard the status and authority of the United Nations, uphold the rules-based multilateral trading system with the World Trade Organization at its core, and contribute positive energy to reforming and improving global governance. Xi Jinping emphasized that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee reviewed and approved the proposals for the 15th Five-Year Plan. China will comprehensively advance Chinese-style modernization and expand high-level opening-up. He welcomed French entrepreneurs to continue sharing in the dividends of China's development.
Approximately 150 representatives from the Chinese and French governments, businesses, and other sectors attended the closing ceremony.
Wang Yi participated in the above activities.
