Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) November 25 – Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met with U.S. Ambassador to China Mike Pound in Beijing.
Liu Haixing stated that President Xi Jinping's phone call with President Trump yesterday, building on the successful meeting in Busan, further calibrated the direction of China-US relations and injected momentum, demonstrating the overall stable and positive trend of bilateral relations. The CPC maintains exchanges with both the Republican and Democratic parties in the United States in various forms. The International Department is willing to follow the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and actively promote communication and dialogue between political parties, think tanks, enterprises, youth, and non-governmental organizations of the two countries to promote the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of bilateral relations. Liu Haixing also introduced the main achievements of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee.
Pound stated that, in the U.S. view, there is no more important bilateral relationship in the world today than the U.S.-China relationship. The two countries are currently at a crucial historical juncture, and the U.S. is willing to enhance dialogue with China, strengthen cooperation in various fields, resolve issues of mutual concern, and achieve common prosperity in a mutually respectful manner. The U.S. supports more communication and dialogue between the political parties of the two countries.
The two sides also exchanged views on other issues of common concern. (End)
