According to statistics from Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com), Cambodia exported nearly 760,000 tons of raw cashew nuts to Vietnam in the first five months of this year, with an export value of US$971 million. Export volume increased by 39% year-on-year, and export value increased by 29%. Vietnam is Cambodia's largest cashew nut export market.
In addition to imports from Cambodia, Vietnam also imported 3.5 to 4 million tons of raw cashew nuts from Ghana, Indonesia, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Côte d'Ivoire.
It is reported that Vietnam is currently the world's largest cashew nut processor and exporter, accounting for nearly 80% of global production, a position it has maintained for 16 consecutive years.
