Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – At its 2025 annual results press conference held in Shenzhen on the 26th, China General Nuclear Power Corporation (CGN Power) announced that in 2025, all 28 operating units managed by CGN Power maintained safe and stable operation, achieving zero unplanned shutdowns, generating 232.648 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity. The main construction of six new units commenced.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, CGN Power achieved leapfrog development. Over the past five years, a total of 16 nuclear power units managed by the company have been approved, and 10 nuclear power units have achieved FCD (first concrete pouring of the nuclear island). The number of operating and under-construction nuclear power bases has increased to 10. The demonstration project of the domestically developed third-generation nuclear power technology "Hualong One" has been fully completed, and mass construction has entered a fast track. The total installed capacity of nuclear power units under the company's management, both in operation and under construction, increased from approximately 35.35 million kilowatts at the end of 2020 to approximately 56.06 million kilowatts, with a cumulative on-grid electricity generation exceeding 1.07 trillion kilowatt-hours, equivalent to a carbon dioxide emission reduction of approximately 992 million tons.
By 2025, the Fangchenggang Nuclear Power Plant Units 5 and 6 in Guangxi, and the Taishan Nuclear Power Plant Units 3 and 4 in Guangdong will receive national approval; six units—the Lufeng Nuclear Power Plant Units 1 and 2 in Guangdong, the Taipingling Nuclear Power Plant Unit 3 in Guangdong, the Zhaoyuan Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1 in Shandong, the San'ao Nuclear Power Plant Unit 3 in Zhejiang, and the Ningde Nuclear Power Plant Unit 6 in Fujian—will achieve fuel loading (FCD) and enter the full-scale construction phase; the Taipingling Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1 in Guangdong and the San'ao Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1 in Zhejiang will obtain operating licenses and achieve their first fuel loading, laying a solid foundation for the company's long-term development. Technological innovation continues to achieve breakthroughs.
In 2025, the China Southern Atomic Energy Science and Technology Innovation Center, the company's source of advanced original nuclear energy technologies, will be gradually improved according to the "one headquarters, multiple bases" layout, providing experimental support for the iterative upgrade of "Hualong One" and the development of a product system including advanced reactor types. Based on "Hualong One" technology, the company has developed "Hualong One" 2.0 through technological improvements, comprehensively enhancing safety, advancement, and economy, and is accelerating the project's implementation. Operating efficiency has steadily increased. While ensuring safety and quality, the company has implemented cost reduction strategies and rationally controlled costs. In 2025, it achieved operating revenue of 75.697 billion yuan, net profit attributable to the parent company of 9.765 billion yuan, and net profit attributable to the parent company after deducting non-recurring items of 9.113 billion yuan.
