Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – An official from the Beekeeping Department of Myanmar's Ministry of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine revealed that in the first 11 months of the 2025-2026 fiscal year (beginning April 1), Myanmar's honey export revenue reached US$1.479 million, with export markets covering countries such as Japan, South Korea, Thailand, China, and Saudi Arabia.
It is understood that Myanmar's annual total honey production is approximately 7,000 tons, of which about 2,600 tons are exported, forming a stable export scale. Benefiting from the substantial profits of beekeeping, the number of beekeepers in Myanmar has continued to grow, especially those adopting a combined "beekeeping + flower cultivation" model, showing significant growth and a positive industry development trend.
Myanmar honey boasts a rich variety, encompassing sesame honey, date honey, Niger honey, sunflower honey, lychee honey, rubber honey, and various other honeys, gaining recognition in overseas markets for its natural quality and becoming an important part of the country's specialty agricultural exports.
