This information was obtained by reporters at the 2026 National Civil Aviation Work Conference held on the 6th. Song Zhiyong, Director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, introduced at the conference that in 2025, with a 4.7% year-on-year increase in flight volume, the on-time performance rate exceeded 90%. The entire industry achieved a profit of 6.5 billion yuan, with further improvement in operating efficiency. Traditional general aviation completed 1.218 million flight hours, and the total number of registered drones exceeded 3.28 million, accumulating 45.3 million flight hours, a year-on-year increase of nearly 70%.
Song Zhiyong also stated that in 2025, international flights recovered to over 90% of 2019 levels, international passenger traffic increased by 21.6% year-on-year, regular passenger flights between China and India resumed, the "Southern Corridor" route to Latin America was successfully opened, and the seventh freedom of the air flight to the Hainan Free Trade Port successfully made its maiden flight. Passenger traffic to Central Asia, West Asia, Africa, and Latin America increased by 59.3%, 33.4%, 39.0%, and 108.6% year-on-year, respectively.
"Overall, in 2025, the industry maintained a steady and positive development trend, and the main targets and tasks were successfully completed, marking a successful conclusion to the '14th Five-Year Plan'," Song Zhiyong revealed. He added that in 2026, China's civil aviation aims to achieve a total transport turnover of 175 billion ton-kilometers, passenger traffic of 810 million passengers, and cargo and mail traffic of 10.7 million tons.
