Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – On the 11th, it was learned from China Railway Construction International Group Co., Ltd. that the PK330 Bridge, the longest heavy-haul railway bridge in Africa, constructed by China Railway Construction Corporation, recently achieved track laying success, marking a significant milestone in the construction of the western Algerian railway mining line.

According to reports, the PK330 Bridge is located in Tindouf Province, Algeria, in the Sahara Desert, and is 6 kilometers long. This bridge is the longest span, the most difficult to construct, and has the tightest construction schedule of the entire line.

The local natural environment is harsh, and the project faced multiple challenges during construction, including extreme high temperatures, sandstorms, and a shortage of fresh water. The geology at the bridge site is mainly composed of loose sand and gravel interlayers, posing numerous inconveniences to machinery operation, concrete pouring, and continuous work. The project team developed a practical construction plan based on the external environment and the construction schedule. Local mainstream media reported that the completion of the PK330 Bridge is an "unprecedented engineering feat" and one of the largest railway construction projects in North Africa to date.

The Western Algerian Railway Mining Line Project is a landmark project jointly built by China and Algeria under the Belt and Road Initiative. The project, with a total length of 575 kilometers, connects the Galadjebilet iron ore mining areas in Bechar and Tindouf provinces, opening up access between mining areas, industrial zones, and ports, further improving Algeria's national railway network, and promoting transportation and economic development in southwestern Algeria.
