Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – “Thailand is rich in tropical fruits such as durian, mangosteen, and longan, but currently, harvesting, sorting, and quality analysis are still done manually. We urgently need advanced machinery to improve harvesting efficiency and quality,” said Darat, president of the Thai Society of Agricultural Machinery Engineers, in Nanning, Guangxi, on the 6th.
The 2025 China-ASEAN Agricultural Mechanization Cooperation and Development Conference was held in Nanning on the same day, bringing together agricultural officials, experts, scholars, and industry leaders from China and ASEAN countries to discuss regional agricultural mechanization development policies, technological cooperation pathways, and market opportunities.
Darat stated at the conference that Thailand's agricultural workforce is continuously shrinking, driving its agriculture towards mechanization and intelligentization. The agricultural machinery with the largest demand in Thailand is crop protection equipment, tractors and spare parts, and harvesting equipment.
Currently, China's agricultural mechanization level has achieved a leapfrog improvement, with the comprehensive mechanization rate of crop cultivation and harvesting exceeding 75%. Southeast Asian countries have become an important market for China's agricultural machinery exports, and China's Beidou navigation tractors, plant protection drones, and other intelligent equipment have entered the fields of ASEAN countries.
Song Daqing, Sales Manager of the Southern Region of China YTO Group Corporation, introduced that the company's agricultural machinery products are favored in Southeast Asian countries, with approximately 1,500 Dongfanghong tractors exported to Southeast Asian countries annually. "We have developed specialized complete sets of agricultural machinery equipment tailored to the terrain and crops of Southeast Asia. In the future, we will also promote solutions for orchard planting and harvesting operations in Southeast Asia."
"ASEAN countries have a strong demand for agricultural modernization. In the first three quarters of this year, agricultural machinery trade between China and ASEAN increased significantly, setting a new record in recent years," analyzed Fan Jianhua, President of the China Agricultural Machinery Distribution Association. He pointed out that with the advancement of agricultural modernization in ASEAN, local demand for intelligent agricultural machinery, agricultural drones, and precision irrigation equipment is beginning to emerge. China is developing rapidly in these areas and can seize emerging markets by leveraging its technological and cost advantages.
On November 6th, the Agricultural Mechanization Exhibition of the 2025 Guangxi International Agricultural Expo opened, with more than 150 Chinese and foreign companies showcasing over 1,300 sets of advanced digital and intelligent agricultural machinery equipment. On the first day of the exhibition, 1,598 machines were traded, with a transaction value of 249.4 million yuan. (over)
