Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The “China-Russia Joint Laboratory for Intelligent Computing in the Digital Economy,” initiated and led by the China-Russia Digital Economy Research Center, was inaugurated in Xiamen on the 3rd. Simultaneously, two cutting-edge technology industrialization projects recommended by Moscow State University were launched.

The “China-Russia Joint Laboratory for Intelligent Computing in the Digital Economy” is a significant achievement of the key project “Intergovernmental International Scientific and Technological Innovation Cooperation” under the National Key R&D Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China. Jointly built by the China-Russia Digital Economy Research Center, Xiamen University, and Moscow State University, the laboratory will focus on creating a “China-Russia cross-media content analysis and trusted data interaction platform.” Its core application, the “China-Russia Document Assistance Assistant,” will specifically address challenges such as the high cost of multilingual public opinion analysis and cross-cultural communication barriers in the cross-border digital economy field, providing support for the efficient development of cross-border digital businesses.

The two Russian projects launched simultaneously for industrialization have broad market prospects. The "Refulon" new materials project, relying on innovative technologies from Moscow State University, has achieved key technological breakthroughs in a series of membrane materials developed in ultrafiltration and nanofiltration fields. It is projected to generate an annual market size of approximately $1 billion after industrialization. The "New Taili" artificial intelligence chemical information system, leveraging AI technology, empowers new drug development, potentially shortening the development cycle by 3 to 4 years and reducing costs by approximately 20%. It is currently ready for market promotion in BRICS countries.

Yuri Mazey, Vice-Rector of Moscow State University, stated that these research achievements are thanks to the cooperative platform provided by the BRICS New Industrial Revolution Partnership Innovation Base, marking a new stage of high-quality development in Sino-Russian scientific and technological cooperation. These projects have enormous potential for large-scale promotion in the field of digital economy applications and can empower industry partners.

These project achievements fully demonstrate that BRICS cooperation in the digital economy is moving towards a more pragmatic and in-depth direction. By pooling high-quality innovation resources from China and Russia and creating a full-chain cooperation model of "technology research and development -成果转化 - industrial implementation," a replicable and scalable successful example has been provided for BRICS scientific and technological innovation cooperation, which will undoubtedly inject strong momentum into building a new era of innovative and inclusive BRICS cooperation.

The China-Russia Digital Economy Research Center was established in September 2021, jointly built by the Xiamen Municipal People's Government, Xiamen University, and Russian universities. In 2024, it was officially designated as the "BRICS Innovation Base Digital Economy Research Center" and incorporated into the BRICS New Industrial Revolution Partnership Innovation Base framework.
