
Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – In February 2026, Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, continued its strong recovery in the tourism industry, with both tourist arrivals and tourism revenue achieving double-digit year-on-year growth, demonstrating a steady development momentum at the start of the new year.
According to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Tourism, Hanoi received approximately 3.18 million tourists in February, a 28.5% increase compared to February 2025. International tourists numbered 680,800, a 16.2% increase year-on-year; domestic tourists numbered approximately 2.5 million, a significant 32.3% increase year-on-year. Tourism revenue also climbed to VND 12.39 trillion, a 24.8% increase compared to the same period last year, with all key indicators confirming the strong recovery vitality of Hanoi's tourism industry.
Regarding the supply and demand of accommodation facilities, Hanoi had 3,761 tourist accommodation facilities in February 2026, providing a total of 71,256 rooms. Of these, 65 hotels and apartments, ranging from 1 to 5 stars and with a total of 9,963 rooms, are currently within their valid rating period. The city's hotel occupancy rate reached 63.6% that month, an increase of 1.3 percentage points compared to the same period in 2025, maintaining a high level and reflecting the stable and strong demand for accommodation from tourists.
Regarding tourism service facilities, Hanoi currently has 61 businesses that meet tourism service standards, covering 27 catering establishments, 23 shopping establishments, 9 entertainment and leisure establishments, and 2 health care establishments, comprehensively meeting the diverse consumption needs of tourists.
Dang Huong Giang, Director of the Hanoi Tourism Department, stated that to further enrich the supply of tourism products and enhance the destination's attractiveness, Hanoi will focus on several initiatives in the future: piloting agricultural experience tourism products in the Ba Trang and Vinh Thien areas; and planning to launch the "Soc Trang Night – Rong Thanh Heroic Spirit" themed nighttime tourism project at the Soc Trang National Special Site. Meanwhile, Hanoi is actively refining the application criteria for four major tourist areas: the Ba Vi tourist area, the Huong Son historical site, Hoan Kiem Lake and its surrounding area, and the Old Quarter, striving to have them designated as national-level tourist attractions. Furthermore, the tourism department will continue to develop a "Hanoi Destination Image Promotion Plan for the Period 2026-2030," aligning with the "Vietnam's International Image Communication Strategy to 2045," to comprehensively enhance Hanoi's international tourism influence.
