Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) reports that the Ho Chi Minh City High-Tech Park (SHTP), aiming to become an international science and technology innovation center by 2030, focuses on green and sustainable economic transformation and plays a core role in the southern innovation cluster. By 2025, the park is projected to generate approximately US$23 billion in output, continuously injecting momentum into Ho Chi Minh City's high-tech industry.
Leading enterprises are making significant contributions. Xie Kaiwen, Vice President and General Manager of Intel Vietnam Products Company, revealed that by the end of 2025, Intel's cumulative exports to Vietnam will exceed US$100 billion, with 4 billion products, investments exceeding US$1.5 billion, creating nearly 6,000 jobs, and currently employing 2,000 people. This year, Intel, in conjunction with the Vietnamese government and the park, launched the "Artificial Intelligence Leaders Program" and the "Artificial Intelligence Future Workforce Training Program" to support local talent development.
Currently, the park has attracted global technology giants such as Intel, Samsung, and Sanofi, playing a leading role in building two major ecosystems: semiconductor chips and biotechnology. It possesses two core technologies: nanotechnology in the biomedical and energy fields, and MEMS chip design and manufacturing in the environmental and industrial fields. The park adopts a tripartite incubation model involving the government, academia, and enterprises, focusing on supporting technology incubation and commercialization.
As a core directly affiliated unit of the park, the R&D center meets international construction standards, equipped with a complete set of MEMS component manufacturing and packaging equipment. It holds 18 exclusive patents, 9 international patents, nearly 60 national patents, and 155 industrial property rights. More than 20 technological products have been commercialized, and over 120 scientific papers have been published. To date, the center has over 160 effective projects, driving high-tech product output value exceeding US$176 billion, with the goal of becoming an international standards research center within the next five years.
Looking ahead to 2045, the park is positioned as an international standard science and technology park, focusing on six pillars: application transfer, infrastructure, human resources, scientific innovation, international cooperation, and governance. It aims to create a highly interactive and innovative urban core, promoting sustainable development in Ho Chi Minh City and the southern region. (End)
