Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Foreign Affairs Commission, met with Nezamipour, Deputy Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, in New Delhi on the 22nd.

Wang Yi stated that China welcomes the launch of follow-up consultations between Iran and the United States, with the assistance of Pakistan and Qatar, regarding the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), and the consensus reached on the next negotiation mechanism. The 14 core provisions of the MOU are hard-won, explicitly proposing an immediate and permanent cessation of hostilities, a halt to the use or threat of force, mutual respect for each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and avoidance of interference in each other's internal affairs. These provisions embody the spirit of equality, conform to the purposes of the UN Charter, and comply with the norms of international relations. Maintaining and implementing the MOU will help consolidate the hard-won ceasefire, open new prospects for Iran-US relations, and help bring peace back to the Middle East. This not only serves the fundamental interests of Iran and its people but also meets the common expectations of the international community. As Iran's comprehensive strategic partner, China has always upheld a fair stance, supported all efforts conducive to peace, supported Iran in safeguarding its sovereignty, security, and national dignity, and supported Iran in improving its relations with Gulf countries and other regional nations. China is willing to continue providing assistance in its own way and play a constructive role in the early restoration of regional peace and tranquility.

Wang Yi stated that Iran is China's comprehensive strategic partner, and the two sides share a traditional friendship. China has always approached the advancement of China-Iran relations from a strategic and long-term perspective and is willing to work with Iran to strengthen high-level exchanges, consolidate political mutual trust, deepen pragmatic cooperation, and promote the steady and long-term development of China-Iran relations.

Nezamipour briefed on the latest developments in the Middle East situation and the Iran-US negotiations. He sincerely thanked China for its commitment to promoting peace and ending hostilities, highly praised President Xi Jinping's four-point proposal on maintaining peace and stability in the Middle East, and looked forward to China continuing to play an important role in ensuring the effective implementation of the first phase of the Iran-US memorandum of understanding. Nezamipour stated that Iran-China relations are extremely important, and Iran has always attached great importance to its relations with China and highly appreciates China's positive role in international and regional affairs. Deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries is a consensus across all sectors of Iranian society. Iran firmly adheres to the one-China principle and is willing to further strengthen exchanges at all levels with China, enhance mutual support, explore cooperation potential, and strengthen collaboration within multilateral frameworks such as BRICS to jointly address common challenges.
