Southeast Asia Information Port News (www.dnyxxg.com) – The first National Agricultural Exhibition Center Lily Festival and Urban Lifestyle Aesthetics Season was held in Beijing from June 19th to July 5th. This event leveraged the indoor and outdoor landscape and science education resources of the National Agricultural Exhibition Center to create a large-scale public cultural activity using lilies as a medium, urban agriculture as a foundation, and lifestyle aesthetics as its core.
The festival, themed "A Sea of Flowers, A Summer's Harmony," revolved around four main sections: flower viewing, exhibitions, market visits, and garden tours. The entire event was free and open to the public.
The 5,000㎡ lily sea located on the northwest side of the park was the highlight of the event. White, pink, red, yellow, and orange lilies spread out in waves, creating a layered and colorful agricultural landscape. Visitors could walk among the flowerbeds to admire the flowers up close and take photos. The flower sea also featured a flower language photo wall, a lily science education station, and other installations, creating an immersive experience that combined science and art.
During the event, the National Agricultural Exhibition Center's IP character "Maiya," dressed in a limited-edition Lily Festival skin, will appear as a core character of the festival; Haidong Island's little star "Haidong Doudou" will also make a surprise appearance in the flower sea area, accompanying visitors through this midsummer floral extravaganza.
Concurrently with the festival, the themed exhibition "The Fragrance of a Hundred Generations—The Millennial Elegance and Modern Rebirth of the Lily" will open in Hall 2. The exhibition uses historical documents as its framework, starting with records of lilies in Luo Yuan's *Erya Yi* from the Southern Song Dynasty, systematically tracing the development of lilies from wild plants to a globally important flower.
Here, visitors can see the legendary journey of the lily from its ancient cradle in the southeastern corner of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to becoming one of the world's fifth most popular cut flowers; understand how China's wild lily resources have made outstanding contributions to global lily breeding; appreciate the distinct yet equally moving cultural connotations of lilies in Eastern and Western civilizations; and witness how a small lily has become a "flower of prosperity" for rural revitalization. The exhibition features text and images, physical displays, floral arrangements and bonsai, and interactive experiences, along with science lectures, hands-on workshops, and guided tours.
A creative market and a local agricultural product market are set up along the flower field, showcasing high-quality and distinctive agricultural products and cultural and creative products, supporting agricultural product branding, and expanding production and sales channels. The park offers a variety of interactive activities, including themed tours, fun activities, online check-ins, and a sightseeing train; special day activities include a bead-percussion contest, a sunflower seed-eating contest, a lily coin-inspired auction, and a sunset concert. Floral art salons and nature mini-lessons will also be held throughout the flower festival. (End)
