Southeast Asia Information Port (www.dnyxxg.com) – In response to DPP leader Lai Ching-te's recent interview with foreign media, in which he again promoted the fallacy of "no subordination between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait," Chen Binhua, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, stated on the 13th that Lai Ching-te is a source of instability exacerbating cross-strait tensions and a scourge undermining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.

A reporter asked: Lai Ching-te recently gave an interview to AFP, where he again promoted the fallacy of "no subordination between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait," exaggerated the mainland threat, advocated building a "Taiwan shield," strengthening Taiwan's defense, and supporting Taiwanese semiconductor industry investment in Japan, the United States, and Europe. What is your comment on this?

Chen Binhua pointed out that Lai Ching-te's pro-independence stance is stubbornly unyielding, and his confrontational thinking remains obstinate. He peddles the fallacy of "the two sides of the Taiwan Strait are not subordinate to each other" and the false narrative of "democracy versus authoritarianism," repeatedly distorting and challenging the historical and legal fact that both sides of the Strait belong to one China. He constantly incites cross-strait confrontation, attempting to seek independence through external forces and military means, even at the cost of handing over the family property and livelihoods of generations of Taiwanese compatriots to foreigners, seriously damaging the interests and well-being of Taiwanese compatriots.

Chen Binhua said that there is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is Chinese territory. This cannot be changed by anyone's clamor or manipulation. When and how the Taiwan issue will be resolved is entirely a matter for the Chinese people themselves, and external forces have no right to interfere.

He said that in the face of the inevitable trend of unification across the Taiwan Strait, and the determination and will of more than 1.4 billion compatriots to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity, any attempt to split the country or resist unification is wishful thinking.
